Learn the full workflow
Start with fictional practice returns and learn how information moves from intake into the software. Identify where to enter details, where supporting schedules appear and how to review the resulting forms. A guided walkthrough helps you understand the process rather than relying on a sequence of memorized clicks.
Treat diagnostics as prompts
Software messages can identify missing entries or inconsistent information, but a return without diagnostic errors is not automatically correct. Read each message, understand why it appears and compare the entries with the source information. When a result seems unexpected, investigate it instead of assuming the software has resolved the issue.
Develop a review checklist
Check identifying information, income entries and other relevant details against the records provided. Review the return as a whole and note questions that require clarification. Keep a consistent sequence so important checks are not skipped when you are busy. Do not invent information to clear a warning or complete a field.
Protect access and training data
Use individual accounts where available and enable multifactor authentication when supported. Follow the software provider's security and update guidance. Keep fictional practice data separate from client files. Before working independently, understand the review, authorization and filing steps that apply to your software and the services you provide.
